Alpenglow is located in southeastern Iowa. You may see us competing in the Midwest, Colorado, Michigan or (less frequently) the North East.
I am a member of the Alaskan Malamute Club of America.
My name is Stefanie; my dogs and our adventures are my lifetime passion project. Currently I own three malamutes: Nyx, Flora, and the keeper from my first litter - Swift. I have three elderly mixed-breed girls, too. We're up to a lot of fun activities - check out each dog's page to see photos and learn about what we’ve been up to!
My goal, like many, is to breed Malamutes that are structurally correct, exhibit correct type, and are able to perform freighting duties. Excellent temperaments for companionship are equally as important to me. My fundamental priorities for my program are focused on producing dogs with friendly, adaptable temperaments with strong emotional resilience and sound physical structure - always using the Alaskan Malamute Club of America breed standard as a guide. While my main focus is conformation, rally, and carting/bikejoring, we dabble in: weight pull, hiking/packing, scentwork, and barn hunt. I aspire for my dogs to succeed in nontraditional malamute sports like obedience and agility (when I have more time to dedicate to training for this!)
